Tangled Bank Studios, a subsidiary of Howard Hughes Medical Institute, asked us to design a digital ad for their branding materials. TBS works with top-notch filmmakers to craft exceptional films about science for broadcast, theatrical and digital distribution. For this ad, they asked us to provide a unique perspective on their films, and expand their established branding.
- We designed a retro look by creating ‘filmstrip’ borders to showcase images from six selected films.
- We used their provided images, plus we viewed TBS films online while capturing still shots from them.
- Cropping the images in a dynamic way pulls viewers into the ad, creating motion and a ‘you are there’ feeling.
